A Great Workout Bench

Made my water taste nasty...it has water inside it!

This cap is worthless. It made my water taste bad (whereas the original 'sport cap' never did) so I removed the silicone o-ring and put the cap in the dishwasher thinking it had some coffee residue on it or something.



After I took it out of the dishwasher I could hear water sloshing around _inside_ of it! It appears to be completely impermeable - there are no apparent holes in it. Nevertheless it has water inside of it with no evident way to get the water out.



The 'sport cap' that came with my Kleen Kanteen is hollowed out like an upside-down cup - there is no bottom. This low-profile cap is hollow but has a bottom - it has a continuous outer surface like a fishing bobber or something.



Clearly they need to work on their quality-control. Avoid this cap like the worthless POS that it is.More detail ...

I bought two caps for my children ages 9 and 10. They can put them on easily and their hair remains dry. They haven't ripped their caps in over a month of use which a testament to the durablility of the cap!More detail ...

Finally!

I've had several of the regular Klean Kanteen bottles which are great but I always disliked the fact that the liquid didn't stay cold for long unless the tote was used and the bottle would sweat quite a bit. I didn't like the tote because it smelled odd and made the bottle awkward to set down on tables. When I saw the insulated bottles I bought 2 of the 20 oz size one with just the regular loop cap and one with the cafe cap. I have to disagree with what everyone has said about both caps. I love them both! I use the bottle with the loop cap the most and it keeps my juice cold all day 9+ hours at work even without adding ice. The cafe cap doesn't leak for me either out the opening or around the seal. Of course it does state that the opening you drink from isn't supposed to be leak-proof it says it right on the packaging. I don't upend my bottle but if I did I might get a few drips at the most. These are great as travel mugs for coffee they even fit in my car's cup holders. I don't think most travel mugs are completely leak-proof anyway especially if you can drink out of the cap. Keeps coffee hot for the whole day just as stated. Would also be great for smoothies or soup. I plan to buy a couple of the 12 oz size for my lunch bag. Another excellent product from Klean Kanteen! More detail ...

Swimmers have a different use for swim caps

Actually the purpose of a swim cap is to keep hair out of the face and keep the body aerodynamic in the water NOT keep hair dry. If you want one to protect your hair the hair care aisle of yourr local drug store has those- they come with straps and flowers and everything.



Swim caps like this are not meant for a leisure swimmer- in fact most swimmers WET their hair before putting on silicone or lycra caps to get them to stay put. For those of us who swim in warm water and/or climates traditional swim caps are way too warm. If you swim competitively you need to keep cool and silicone and latex don't exactly offer that.



These are great caps- much nicer fitting than the TYR ones (which are tall and narrow suitable for the coneheads among us I suppose). They do wear out VERY quickly both in salt and chlorinated water. But for the distance swimmer they do their job nicely without causing headaches or being too loose.More detail ...

Cap holds water

After several months of owning a 27oz bottle with this cap I wondered why the beverage tasted funny here when I put it in the sink to wash it the cap would suck in soapy water. I ended up drilling some holes in the bottom and could not believe all the soapy water that came out. It's a great solution to a great kanteen.

I just got my Klean Kanteen Wide Mouth Insulation Thermos and I ordered the Café Cap at the same time. I am so glad I did. I love the Klean Kanteens but didn't like unscrewing and screwing every time I wanted a drink. This lets you drink hot or cold beverages at home work or on the go.



One caveat it is not leak proof and it not spill proof. I found that out yesterday when I moved my arm too quickly and found it covered with hot tea.



I also wish you could open and shut it with one hand but it's not enough to make me change thermoses.

Hair all fits but doesn't stay dry

If you're looking for a cap that will hold pretty long hair this might be the one for you. I found it spacious enough for mine (lots of below-shoulder hair) but it does NOT keep the water out. My hair wasn't as soaked as if I hadn't worn anything but it was fairly wet not just damp. I'd like to find one for long hair that has the ribs on the inside edges which seem to keep out water better (like windshield wiper blades) but haven't found any in a cap that's large enough for my volume of hair.More detail ...

This is a great cap!

I'm on my 5th cap now I think. Silicone is great and lasts forever. Unlike rubber (which can snag hair) and latex (which some people are allergic to) silicone fits smoothly over wet hair has a glossy finish so it looks great and doesn't lose elasticity. I have a some advice if you want to try this product that I've learned overt the years:

1. Always rinse and hang dry. I've left wet caps in my gym bag and after a month of two of neglect it develops black spots. I don't know if it's mold it doesn't wash off...and you'll have to buy a new cap if you don't like the spotted look.

2. Pull it on gently. I've ripped one when I was trying to stretch it over my head because my long nails cut right through it. It's not cloth so you have to be careful. This goes for latex and rubber too.

3. Wet your hair first. If your hair is dry when you put it on you will trap air under the cap. And since it's not a permeable material the cap will start to come off while you swim because of the air trying to escape inside.

4. Pick a fun color.

Good product... does what it's supposed to

I recently gave up buying bottled water. While I don't miss dealing with all the plastic bottles I did miss the sports cap that my favorite brand came with. I was happy to see that Klean Kanteen offers a sports cap and I am happy that it works just like any other sports-capped bottle I've used.



Like other reviewers noted my sports cap whistled when I took a drink. Thanks to another reviewer I discovered that if I loosen the cap just a little I get a much better flow of water and no whistling. Basically my sports cap works best if I tighten it just to the point of stopping and then no more. (My habit is to use more pressure and tighten it that extra turn or so.) Great Hat.

I ordered 3 in size large all were consistent and about what I expect in a large fitted hat.

I've already lost one the second one is starting to look pretty ragged.



The hat has just the right amount of fade to look good but not like it just came from the store. That can be so Dorky.
